How to Stay Consistent When Life Keeps Interrupting
Heather Rebecca Wilson makes every part of her weekly podcast herself. She designs the graphics, edits the episodes, and does the marketing. On a week when the audio no longer matched the video, she did not push a broken episode through just to keep the calendar clean. She told her people what happened, gave herself a pause, and moved the conversation to the following week.
That is the Heather who sat with me on Sacred Strategy. She has made eighty episodes of The Cycle Starters Podcast, and our conversation was never really about becoming more productive. It was about the relationship we keep with the work when life does not arrive in a tidy, manageable shape.
The rhythm can bend without disappearing
Heather publishes each week when she can, and she does not pretend a weekly rhythm means every week has to look the same. When the technical problem appeared, she did not rush another recording to fill the space. She named the delay and came back when she could stand behind what she was sharing.
There is something in that worth paying attention to. Consistency is not a demand to be everywhere, no matter what. It is a way of letting people know there is a real person behind the work, and that she is still in relationship with it.
Capacity belongs in the plan
For three years, Heather held a new moon circle every month. Then she noticed she was tired of holding that much space, and that she wanted to sit inside a circle again herself. So she let the structure change.
She retired the monthly rhythm and began shaping seasonal virtual embodiment retreats with a guest teacher alongside her. She has also been making room for in-person meetups near the beach where she lives, because that is one of the parts she most enjoys.
The work did not disappear. It became more honest about what it could hold. That is not stepping away from a community. It is caring for the woman who has been holding the room, too.
