How to Refine Your Coaching Offer Without Starting Over
You may not need a new offer. You may need to tend the one you already have.
For the past three weeks, I have eaten chicken congee nearly every morning.
I am a person who would have told you that I need variety, that eating the same thing three times in one week is boring, and that my palate has too many interests for this kind of repetition. I would also have told you that I love breakfast.
What I am realizing as I get older is that I love a sweet breakfast. Give me a croissant any day, and I will say, “Thank you, ma’am.”
For an actual morning meal, I desire something savory and hearty. I desire Korean and Asian food. I desire something that makes me feel nourished.
When I gave up the idea of what I should be having for breakfast and considered what I would really enjoy, chicken congee became my daily delight.
It also supports my current commitment to water and protein before coffee. The coffee is the motivator, obviously.
My one morning dish is chicken congee, and each day I get to add different toppings that make it feel special. The base stays steady. My inspiration and creativity get to live on top.
What does chicken congee have to do with your coaching offer?
I wonder what would happen if you looked at one of your offers this way.
This does not have to be the only offer in your business. It is the signature dish you are tending in this season.
It may be a new offer you desire to share for the next 90 days. It may be an existing offer that could use more attention, awareness, and love. It may be an offer you are ready to revamp.
Before you change the whole dish, I invite you to consider these five questions.
Five questions to refine your coaching offer

The One Offer Tending Recipe with five questions about promise, delivery, proof, money, and attention
The base stays steady. Your inspiration and creativity get to live on top.
The honest promise: What can you truthfully say this offer helps your client do?
Inside the offer: What actually happens inside the space you are holding?
Proof available today: What real proof can you use today?
The monthly money picture: What price, monthly goal, and real capacity are you truly considering?
The tending question: Where is this offer still alive, but a little hungry for your attention?
An offer may need tending, not replacing
An offer can sit in our business like a plant we have not watered. It is there. It is alive. It may not need to be thrown away. It may need us to bring our eyes back to it and tend it.
Inside the August 24 Stay Sacred and Build Circle, we are going to look at our offers with more depth. We will consider the monthly money picture, what happens within us when people do not say yes, and whether we are willing to fine tune and iterate rather than throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Oh Em Gee. I actually used a saying correctly. I am notorious for not knowing them or messing them up.
Just because an offer did not meet your number goals does not mean it is not working. Tension, hardship, and failure can offer incredible information when we give ourselves time to review what happened.
If energy is part of what makes tending the offer feel hard, begin with how to prioritize your work with low energy in midlife. One true next move is enough.
Why review your offer with other people?
You can absolutely do this yourself, and I am going to encourage you not to do it by yourself.
It is more fun when we are together. When you share your process out loud, you may notice an area you have not been looking at. Fresh eyes can illuminate a blind spot. Something that has felt stuck, heavy, or out of step with your vision may begin to feel exciting again when someone is there to support you.
Being a coach, healer, and sacred space holder asks for resilience. You desire to help people, and you get to stay true to your path, keep going, and continue showing up for and with your community.
Our first Stay Sacred and Build Circle is Monday, August 24, one live hour from 4 to 5 PM ET. The Luminaries will be building alongside each other all week. LUSH Business Academy is open, and you can check out all the info right here.
If the offer itself is clear and the place you feel unsure is the room with your client, this Recipe Card on how to hold space as a coach sits right beside this one.
